After a very long journey (and more than a few customs questions), we’ve landed in Seattle - yarn in tow - and we’re just about ready for the weekend at Flock Fiber Festival.

This is our very first time at Flock, and it’s been a long time coming. We were meant to be here last year, but life and logistics got in the way. So we’re especially grateful to Jess and Caroline, the brilliant organisers, for welcoming us this time around. We’re sharing a house with a few friends (Carmen from A Yarn Story and Nu from Hide & Hammer), and looking forward to catching up with many more over the weekend.

What We’re Bringing

You’ll find us in Booth 92, right on the corner opposite the enormous La Mercerie booth - you can’t miss us. We’ve packed as much as we possibly could into our suitcases and yarn crates, including:
•   Number 1, Number 2, Number 3, Number 4
•   Gwlad
•   Snowdonia
•   Preseli – a little bit
•   Fallow, our newest yarn

Fallow is a brand new yarn made entirely from reclaimed fibre - a deeply sustainable, sportweight, worsted-spun yarn that didn’t even exist a few weeks ago. We gathered up fibre from machine setup and mill offcuts, sorted it all by hand, and spun a small but beautiful batch in three undyed shades. It’s smooth, lofty, soft, and a little bit unexpected - and Flock will be the very first place to get your hands on it.

We’ll also have mini skeins (pick n mix style) in Number 2, Snowdonia, and Preseli, plus a small selection of samples and swatches to show how it all knits up.

Come Say Hello

It’ll be Jonny and Anna at the booth all weekend, ready to answer questions, talk fibre, and help you find the perfect skein (or five). We’d love you to come and say hello - whether you’re new to Garthenor or have been with us for years.

Please do take photos, tag us, and let us know what you think. We’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes snippets on Instagram Stories throughout the show, and we’ll post a roundup here on the blog next week for those of you following along from afar.

One Last Thing…

Fallow was so fresh it barely made it into the suitcase - we were still winding skeins in the final days before we left. The customs officer looked very confused when we tried to explain that yes, there is a whole festival for yarn, and yes, we really did fly nearly 5,000 miles just to be there. (Fair enough.)

After a 5-hour drive to Heathrow, a 10-hour flight, and a valiant attempt to adjust to Pacific time, we’re feeling a little sleepy in Seattle… but very happy to be here.

See you at the show!

Hello! It was great to see you at Flock. Your booth looked great and the two people there were so helpful. Unfortunately, I forgot the weight of the mini skeins that I bought. They are Preseli fingering. I’m logging them into my Ravelry stash and I can’t remember the weight or yardage of them. Thank you!!
