Sourced from an organic farm in Somerset, England, this Romney wool has been hand sorted in our mill in Cardigan in West Wales. It's delicately scoured using sustainable methods in West Yorkshire, then carefully carded on our 1950s Tatham carder, Chapman. It's then Gilled (Pin Drafted) three times on Fish, our Intersecting Gillbox to align and straighten the fibres. This smooth sliver is then combed using Clint, the Rectilinear Comb to remove all the short fibres and vegetable matter, leaving only the longest, smoothest fibre remaining.
You can also buy the short fibre as stuffing here.
Your order will be sent as one continuous carded roving except for particularly large orders, where we may have to split across multiple parcels.
