Totally undyed, a stunning reflection of our landscape
Starting with unbroken organic certification from sheep to skein, sustainability is at the very core of what we do.
It guides our every decision, and every single one of our products is climate positive.
We've also planted close to 10,000 trees so far, and we plant one for every single product you buy.
Our iconic undyed yarns have been made organically for over 20 years. Available in Lace to Super Bulky, here you'll find sumptuously soft Shetland to hardy Hebridean.
The delicate twist of a single ply of naturally coloured organic wool has made Number 1 staggeringly popular over the years.
Totally breed specific, we can trace each skein of yarn back to the flock that produced the wool.
We think this lace yarn is perfect for shawls, light sweaters and accessories - or hold it double to use alongside Number 2.

Warm and cosy, Number 5 is the Chunky member of the Garthenor family.
An absolute dream for heavy sweaters, this yarn has wonderful stitch definition throughout, and works well for chunky cables and other textured stitches – though we’d steer clear of anything too fancy for Hedgehog, as this marled colourway excels at a plainer fabric like garter or stockinette.

Cairngorm was designed as a companion to Number 1, our ever-popular undyed lace.
To be able to match the specialty of Number 1, we needed to source some special fibre. Whilst developing our worsted-spun blends, we stumbled across this delicious Romney lambswool. Produced from the first clip at around 6-8 months old, these short, silky fibres are a treat for woollen spinning.

To create the subtle, complex pair of bases that make up Preseli, they're mill-blended as tops before spinning. By blending this way, we're able to get a smooth, even top that keeps the deep grey blend, perfect for heathery tones once dyed.
A blend of Polwarth, Romney and Hebridean, Preseli is our softest yarn ever. In a palette of 36 gorgeous colourways, this one is a dream for colourwork.

We've a new batch of Beacons on the way, which means we need to clear the shelves to make space. While stocks last, these are 20% off, and we're retiring a few shades too, so this could be your last chance.
A good DK yarn needs purpose and structure, and Beacons has that in abundance. a smooth, soft and springy 3-ply yarn, this is a timeless favourite.
Our Polwarth comes from Dunbar Island, part of the Falkland Islands, famed for the snow white superfine fleece. These sheep produce a long, smooth fibre that has excellent stitch definition and soaks up dye like a sponge.
The Polwarth is lifted by some Romney, sourced from a flock in Wiltshire. We chose this lustrous longwool to add structure and some complexity to the blend.
