Tiivad is a stunning shawl pattern from Aleks Byrd, as part of her new book Traditions Revisited. A love letter to both Aleks’ heritage and knitting itself, Traditions Revisited is a collection of 19 beautifully crafted designs and hand drawn illustrations to guide readers through Aleks’ favourite traditional Estonian knitting techniques.
We were thrilled when Aleks asked to use Preseli for this stunning shawl pattern, and we've put together some yarn kits from the team to reflect how we'll be choosing the colours!

Preseli is our worsted spun 4-fold 4ply/fingering weight, and is a buttery soft blend of Polwarth, Romney and Hebridean.

Rich, leafy green Holly (MC) is elevated by Tuscany and Raspberry in the original colourways, chosen by Aleks for Tiivad.
A nautical theme was Andy's inspiration behind this set, utilising Paphos (MC), Sunrise and Highland. (Highland was a requirement, as Andy M is a proud Scotsman!)
Subtle and neutral, Andy chose Cinder (MC), Rigging and Lichen for a gentle, wearable option at odds with some of the bolder selections.
Emily chose Sunrise (MC), Hummingbird and Sycamore for this bright, joyful and sunny set.
Strong and subtle with strong pops of colour, Franki chose Kettle (MC), Koi and Gorse for her option.
Koi (MC) was always going to be front and centre in Freya's choice, beautifully offset by the calm and cooling Cinder and Cadet.
Bold Blazer (MC) is the base for Jonny's set, and the combination of Dragonfly and Gorse brings a lightness and brightness to this strong navy blue.
Joyful Orchard (MC) is offset by Blazer and Lichen in Leonora's kit, bringing depth and subtlety to this summery blossom base.
Delightfully tonal, Orchard (MC) is complimented by Wild Heather and Elderberry for this delightful purple pop.
