Garthenor Organic is a small maker of certified organic, climate positive wool yarns for the knitting, crochet and crafting communities. We sell our range of yarns online, via our growing network of stockists around the world and at shows. We have a global reputation for sustainable, high quality and traceable products, and as of 2022 we’re based at our new premises in Cardigan. This larger space is enabling us to take on more projects, processes and opportunities using new and restored textile machinery on a small industrial scale.
We’re a little team with big goals, and we’re looking for people who want to grow with us and share our mission for making products the right way.
Garthenor Organic is committed to creating a diverse working environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.

The world of manufacturing yarn is a specialist one, so we don’t require specific industry experience, but an interest and passion in machinery, manufacturing and sustainability is essential. We'll provide education on the industry, machinery and processes.
Your primary duties will be to operate a variety of specialist textile equipment, and full training on all machines will be given.
One of the aspects that sets us apart from our competition is our commitment to quality, and your attention to detail will be an essential part of maintaining this consistency. You’ll be expected to diagnose, repair and report faults or issues to maintain a high standard of product.
Traceability is of paramount importance to our product range, so you’ll need to be comfortable with keeping track of batch numbers, as well as completing job sheets for all work undertaken. In the future this is likely to become a digital process, so computer skills will be essential.
As we're a growing company, we'd love to work with people who want to grow with us. We'll be able to support you in training, education and skill development as new processes, tasks and opportunities appear in the company.
Part of this role will also include some order packing and inventory management, applying packaging labels to finished products and other similar duties as required.
Work will be at our mill in Cardigan. This role is part time, approximately 16 hours per week. There will be scope to expand to full time in the future.
